Young hotelier and all-rounder

Alex has been part of Dolomites Hotel Carmen since 2012. What started as a job at reception has grown into a genuine passion. Over the years, he has come to know every aspect of the hotel and now, as a next-generation host, lends a hand wherever needed. His dedication, practical skills and instinct for everyday challenges help everything run smoothly. Preserving the hotel’s personal character while bringing in fresh ideas matters deeply to him.

With the latest renovation, Alex has fulfilled a long-held dream: taking Dolomites Hotel Carmen into its next generation and, together with his team, creating a place where tradition, personality and contemporary hospitality belong together.

Sophie Brugger

Young hotelier and the hotel’s ray of sunshine

After university, Sophie spent many years teaching. Today she brings that same energy and organisational talent to Dolomites Hotel Carmen. Together with Alex, she has embraced the 2026 renovation as an opportunity to lead the hotel into a new era. Her sunny disposition inspires the team; she oversees service, breakfast and dinner, and contributes with fresh, creative ideas.

Martina Perathoner

Experienced host with vision and insight

Martina led Dolomites Hotel Carmen as the family’s second generation until 2026, shaping many of its milestones, from expanding the rooms to developing the modern wellness area. Today you’ll often find her there early in the morning, coordinating housekeeping and laundry and making sure everything runs smoothly. Her experience remains central to the hotel’s high standards.

Aldo & Ida Perathoner

Founders and pioneers of Dolomites Hotel Carmen

For more than half a century, Aldo and Ida Perathoner shaped Dolomites Hotel Carmen into what it is today. True pioneers, they not only ran the hotel but also helped shape Val Gardena alongside their generation. Aldo was a visionary doer, always ready to try something new, while Ida was the soul of the house, caring for guests and ensuring everything worked seamlessly. Their legacy lives on in every detail.

Our story began in Santa Cristina in 1958, with a small bed and breakfast. Since then, our hotel has grown and evolved over the years, while staying true to the warm hospitality of its beginnings.
